about.

After graduating with a double bachelors degree in Media and Arts, majoring in English at the University of Adelaide, Ekkia has embraced life as a freelance creative. She's been reviewing theatre and music performances since 2020 through the Adelaide Show Podcast, and with ArtsHub most recently where she also writes articles. Ekkia has worked as a script-writer and script-editor with Think Films in 2022, and continues to write her own screenplays in her free time. In 2021, Ekkia won the John Harvey Finlayson Prize for Creative Writing through the University of Adelaide.

Ekkia's filmography currently stands at four short films. Of these, three were created with others where she held the role of cinematographer and/or editor, and one she created by herself. Her film 'The Getaway Driver' won the 2022 Barossa Youth Short Film Competition and was screened in the inaugural Trilogy Film Festival in Adelaide. Ekkia has also worked as a Production Runner and Production Assistant on multiple occasions.

Ekkia has been working professionally as a Photographer since 2022, with many years of amateur photography preceding her choice in profession. She primarily takes social pictures for the local newspaper and has had a few gigs as a concert photographer. Ekkia has also previously worked as a Photographer's Assistant for Wedding and Professional Portfolio photographers.

She is also very dedicated to her local community, taking on multiple volunteer roles over the years. Since 2017 Ekkia has volunteered at the Barossa's local community radio station, BBBfm 89.1. She currently hosts two radio shows Mix it Up and Regional Rewind, through which she has interviewed over 18 musicians and organisations within 2023. Over the years she has organised and run the youth music event Busk Til Dusk through the radio station,  helped with outdoor broadcasts, and integrated BBBfm into the No Quiet music festival.

Ekkia also attached herself to the Barossa Film Club's subcommittee to help promote and organise their 2023 Barossa Youth Short Film Competition. Through which she organised and ran multiple film workshops, and ran the Barossa Film Clubs social media.
